Churchill Downs Finalizes Purchase Of Casino In Mississippi

According to the Associated Press, Churchill Downs Inc. has finalized the purchase of a casino hotel in Mississippi for approximately $138 million dollars.

A public ceremony will take place on Friday to mark the transfer of ownership of Harlow’s Casino Resort & Hotel in Greenville Mississippi.

Established on 69 acres of land, Harlow’s holds 33,000 square foot casino. In the casino is 23 table games, a poker room, a 105 room hotel, and 841 slot machines. A 2,600 seat entertainment center, as well s three different dining areas, exist within the casino.

Harlow’s will hold approximately 480 employees, according to Churchill Downs Inc.

Churchill Downs Inc. holds the ownership of Churchill Downs in Louisville, the home of the Kentucky Derby, as well as Arlington Park, Calder Casino & Race Course, and Fair Grounds Race Course and Slots.

The company now owns tracks and casinos in Kentucky, Mississippi, Illinois, Florida, and Louisiana.
