Sioux Falls Casino Robbed At Gun Point

January 13th, 2011 – by Glen Farmer

Sioux Falls police were called to the Easy Dough Casino at 1:25 AM after an armed robber entered the casino. The burglar walked in brandishing a handgun, at which time he demanded money from the clerk. According to Sgt. Jim Severson, the clerk stacked cash in a plastic grocery bag.

The gunman forced the casino employee to the back of the casino, at which time the suspect took off with an undetermined amount of cash. Thankfully, no one was injured in the affray.

According to employee, the suspect was a white male of approximately five feet, five inches, weighing roughly 150 pounds. Wearing a multi-colored bandana, the man entered the building wearing a grey coat and hood, white sunglasses, gloves, and a black semi-automatic pistol.

The suspect was supposedly seen in an older, lightly colored Ford Taurus. It has not been ascertained whether or not this car was the actual getaway vehicle.

Sioux Falls is no stranger to the occasional casino robbery, as there were several in 2009 and 2010. Those with any information surrounding the robbery are urged by police to come forward with any knowledge they could share.
