The Baltimore Sun has recently reported that the two slots casinos in Maryland have generated an enormous amount of money. A total of approximately $10.8 million had been generated by the state’s casinos.
Perryville’s Hollywood Casino has managed to generate roughly $7.7 million in casino win, or the amount that players had lost to the casino. The slot parlor generated roughly $165.96 per day. There are 1,500 slot machines in this casino.
The Casino at Ocean Downs, located near Ocean City, generated approximately $3 million in win. This casino opened on January 4th and brought in approximately $144.54 per diem since its opening.
While the slots casinos had proved moderately successful since their opening, players are still asking for more. Proponents to gambling have requested that table games be added to the agenda, and legislators have already introduced bills that would authorize table games in the state of Maryland.
Competition from surrounding states, including Pennsylvania, Delaware, and West Virginia, has made it so table games are almost a necessity in order to stay with the competition and to prevent players from leaving the state in order to gamble.
