According to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, gamblers wagered a total of $37.4 million on the slot machines at Presque Isle Downs and Casino during the week of January 31st through February 6th.
The casino returned $33.7 million of this money back to the players. This shows that slightly over 90 percent of the money wagered in the casino was won by the players, with roughly 10 percent returning to casino.
The gross revenue, or the casino win, amounted to $2.9 million dollars. Almost $787,000 in promotional free play was spent to adjust the number down to the $2.9 million.
The casino gave a total of $1.3 million to the state in taxes, while the casino kept approximately $1.6 million as their own.
This figure is slightly down from the same time frame in the previous year. During February 1st through February 7th of 2010, gamblers wagered $39.4 million Players won $35.9 million during this time period.
Pennsylvania’s casino gambling industry has regularly been on the rise, with the generation of revenue consistent or increasing through these casinos. Atlantic City has been stuck with heavily reduced revenue due to the fact that Pennsylvania’s casinos have proving so successful.
