Construction On Aqueduct Casino Now Underway

October 31st, 2010 – by Brittney Johnson

Ground has finally been broken for the casino at the Aqueduct Race Track in Queens. Despite delays in the plans, the construction has now begun.

The casino will bring 4,500 slot games into the race track, expanding the gambling choices that players have at their disposal. Estimates show that it will take roughly 18 months to bring the casino to completion, though some of the slot games are expected to be installed and operating as early as May.

New food and beverage choices, as well as event and entertainment space, are also going to be incorporated into the new casino

The financial benefits of the casino have also been put to estimates. More than 1,300 union jobs are supposed to be created, while 800 permanent jobs will be offered when the casino is open.

Revenue for the state is expected to be in the seven figure range on a daily basis.

The establishment of new casinos is not uncommon around the United States, despite the recession.

Online casinos have not yet been taxed in the USA, though there are some congressional efforts currently working to change this. Until this happens, some of the casino deposit methods will prove difficult to players in the states, and some are simply not available.
