The Tran Organization has become one of the most well known casino cheating enterprises, and the organization has recently been faced with another conviction. San Diego federal prosecutors have announced that the Tran organization has suffered another conviction, this time of Van Thu Tran, 45.
Van Thu Tran pleaded guilty in a San Diego federal court on Friday. His charges were many and various, all related to the cheating scam which had taken place through a variety of different casinos. The 45 year old has become the 42nd to be convicted in connection with the conspiracy.
Van Thu Tran admitted to being the co-founder that helped lead the criminal enterprise that victimized twenty-nine casinos in the United States and Canada, including multiple tribal casinos in San Diego county. The enterprise has been connected to over $7 million in cheated winnings, according to Tran’s plea agreement.
The conspirators had used “false shuffles,” concealed microphones and transmitters, as well as co-conspirators to help the scheme along. Tran and her cohorts even bribed officials and employees to help them along.
