Chickasaw Nation Aiming For Casino In Oklahoma

The license for the next casino in the state of Kansas is up for grabs, with several gaming companies competing for the rights to build a casino-hotel near Interstate 35. The Chickasaw Nation is one of the more recent competitors aiming for the right to build the casino near Wichita.

The Kansas Lottery Gaming Facility Review Board heard the proposal by the Global Gaming Solutions LLC, a subsidiary of the Chickasaw Nation. The plan would bring an additional casino-hotel to the state, which would include a vintage car exhibit for those who would visit the gaming center.

Peninsula Gaming Partners LLC is another company battling for the right to build into the casino-hotel.

December 15th is the set date for the winner of the right to build in this area. Extensive research into each company is set take place before the winner of the site is named.

Peninsula Gaming Partners may be on the short end of the stick, as the review board will do background checks on the competitors. A recent scandal has struck Peninsula in Iowa over campaign contributions in a past gubernatorial race.

Peninsula has denied the allegations against the company.

Kansas’s next casino will be a fairly sizable endeavor, regardless of which bidder wins the right to establish their casino in the region. A minimum of $225 million in development costs must be accrued by any casino within the first 15 years of its establishment.
