The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has released revenue figures for the month of October. These figures show the gross revenue and taxes collected on the table games in each casino.
A total of $40,897,115 had been generated by table games in the casinos in Pennsylvania. The $40M resulted in a total of $6,543,538 in tax revenue. Of that, 14 percent will go to the Commonwealth’s general fund, while 2 percent will go to local counties and municipalities.
The revenue for October represents a 10.93 percent increase over the revenue generated in September.
Harrah’s Chester Casino and Racetrack performed the best, bringing in $5.8 million in total revenue. This casino holds 99 tables, compared to the next top earner’s 57. Parx Casino generated $5,793,303, or just over $1 million per table.
SugarHouse Casino, the newest gaming center in the state, managed to bring in a more than modest sum of $5,307,329. This new casino contributed a total of $106,152 in local taxes, while the state tax collected $743,066.
Presque Isle Downs and Casino had performed the worst, bringing in only $1,555,387 in revenue.
The heaviest earners are all centralized around Philadelphia.
The incorporation of table games into the state’s casinos have made the gambling industry in Pennsylvania a top contender for entertainment dollars in the region. Atlantic City has been feeling a negative effect from the nearby competition.
