Pittsburgh Casino Approved To Expand Table Gaming

January 27th, 2011 – by Glen Farmer

The Rivers Casino has been given the right to expand table games in their casino. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has given their approval to bring more table games to their casino, as well as add a 15,000 square foot ballroom into the facility.

Rivers Casino issued a statement saying that the gaming board is allowing them to add a dozen more tables for blackjack, four new poker tables and some roulette tables. The casino is planning on hiring an additional 100 workers to fill the positions. They expect the new table games to be available in the middle of March, 2011.

The casino will now carry 107 table games when the expansion goes through. This will be the third largest set of table games in Pennsylvania’s casinos.

Entertainment events will be the primary goal of the new ballroom. Officials at the casino expect the ballroom to help the casino draw in more gamblers.

Pennsylvania’s casino gambling industry has been on the rise since its creation. Pennsylvania has been cited as one of the main reasons that Atlantic City has been floundering through the recession.
