A Foxwoods branded casino was meant to be established in Pennsylvania, but the company’s plan had been mired in complications throughout the entire duration of its planning. Their license was ultimately revoked by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, but it seems that the company is not done attempting to build a casino in Pennsylvania.
The different partners in the Foxwoods Casino plan have decided to file an appeal in the Commonwealth Court that would challenge the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board’s choice to revoke the license that the partners had controlled.
The filing was submitted late Friday, and will bring the two factions to court to determine whether or not Foxwoods would be entitled to operate a casino in the state of Pennsylvania.
The true problem lies in the fact that Pennsylvania state law has no framework for what will occur now that Foxwoods has had their license revoked. Whether or not the partnership that had intended to found the casino would receive their $50 million investment of receiving the gaming license would be refunded is also a matter of question.
A date for the hearing has not yet been set.
